MLO CE Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Pennsylvania CE requirement for license renewal?

Pennsylvania requires 8 hours of continuing education that must include:

  • 3 hours - Federal Law and Regulations
  • 2 hours - Ethics
  • 2 hours - Non-tradtional Lending
  • 1 hour - Pennsylvania Law

The 2016 8-Hour PA SAFE Comprehensive: 'The Proficient MLO' course meets the requirements listed above.

What is the New Jersey CE requirement for license renewal?

New Jersey requires completion of 12 hours of continuing education. Complete our 8-Hour PA course and the additional 4-Hour NJ CE course to satisfy your requirement.

The SAFE Act prohibits taking the same CE Course in successive years. How can I be sure that Schlicher-Kratz courses meet that requirement?

Our CE Courses are all newly-developed courses offered for this renewal year only. You can be sure that, by completing courses with us, that you are meeting this important SAFE Act requirement.

I completed my pre-licensing education this year. Am I required to complete CE as well?

NMLS states that an MLO who has completed the pre-licensure education (PE) course requirements in the same year in which the license was approved, is not required to complete CE.  However, some exceptions to this policy have occurred.  We suggest you contact the NMLS Call Center at 855-665-7123 to specifically discuss your individual educational requirement.
